Description
This book is a firsthand account of my first visit to Saudi Arabia, written to counter media narratives and explain what life there is actually like as it is lived, not as it is portrayed.
It addresses common Western assumptions and misconceptions, particularly around women’s lives, freedom, family, and daily reality. The book does not romanticize and does not demonize. It describes what exists — including contradictions, privileges, limits, and expectations — as observed and experienced.
Written in my natural voice, the book uses plain language and metaphor to describe social dynamics that are often misunderstood or oversimplified.
This book was written as a love-letter to my extended Saudi family — not through flattery, but through attention, honesty, and respect.
